New coach: Jacopo Spilimbergo
Jacopo was a member of the Italian National team and won medals in
individual European Sabre Championships for under 20 in 1998 and 1999.
he coached the fencing squad of the Italian Air Force. He has now
our tightly nit coaching team and is working with the sabre groups on
Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Jacopo is also interested in photography and gemmology...
||Tulip Noir, the
theatrical fencing group from Avignon gave a couple of performances at
our club back in April. We've learned that apart from the stage
applications, the theatre fencing (escrime
artistique) is also a sport of its own, with championships and
other competitions world wide. The performances are judged by their
artistic originality and the finesse of the technique - somewhat
similar to the figure
from Tulip Noir performances by Armando.
Reclaiming missed lessons
To all those busy members who, being under pressure of work
or intense social life or family commitments, sometimes have to go
fencing for a length of time: We're most happy to arrange for you
complimentary individual lessons programme which will help you back to
(And this way your membership fees won't be wasted too!)
If your class falls on a bank holiday please feel free to come to a
different class instead.

Regency period dance and music, live duelling, and parlour games which
will take place at Victoria and Albert museum on Friday 13 June 2008,

listen to the renowned historian and broadcaster Dan Cruickshank
discuss the delights and dangers of Regency London.

take place at John Madejski Garden
from 19.00 till 20.20
