Membership
Once you have completed your initial beginners course (or if you are already an accomplished fencer) we will be delighted to invite you to become a member of our club. We currently have around 300 members including both social and competitive fencers. We pay particular attention to members who only recently started to fence: through on-going group training sessions we ensure that you learn and progress to the advanced stages of the sport. We are the only club in London to offer group lessons to advanced beginners and intermediate fencers. The sessions are structured and include warm up, footwork, bladework or tactical lesson and free fencing. (timetable) To become a member of London Fencing Club you will need to pay a one off joining fee followed by the monthly subscription once you start training.

Special Offer for students who have just completed our beginners' course: only £60 instead of £150 if you join by the end of Thursday, 14 December 2023 |

Training and monthly subscription
You can select the level of subsciption which corresponds to the amount of training you'd like to undertake. The subscription is paid by standing order and entitles you to:
Attend chosen weekly group training/practice sessions
Obtain expert advice and feedback from coaches
Discounted rates for one-to-one lessons
Free use of equipment for non-electric fencing (i.e. masks, jackets, etc*)
Free use of electric piste sets (scoring apparatus and spools)
Join our fencing holidays abroad and attend various socials
Compete for the club (yes, you can do it!)
We recommend that the recent beginners should attend 2-3 training sessions a week during the intermediate stage. This will enable you to progress and build up your skills rather than just maintain the existing level. Below are the sessions we currently suggest for the recent beginners.
The classes take place thoughout the year with the only short break during the Christmas/New Year period.
Concession Rate
Concession rate on the joining fee is available for actors as well as for full time students and those under 30.
*Although equipment is available for free hire, we strongly recommend that members take advantage of the discounts available to our club at fencing shops to purchase their own kit. Click here for advice on fencing kit and suppliers.
