Only found the negative reviews here after I's ordered. Gulp. However, ordered on Saturday, arrived by following Thursday in Czech Republic. For my daughters who have been fencing a year but held back as the clubs here don't really have any kit and the prices are extortionate. Even compared with buying in Germany (which most people here do) we saved over 200 Euros. Time will tell how long lasting it is, but then kids grow pretty fast, and this was the difference between being able to get the kit and not. They responded to my enquiry email very quickly with a TNT tracking number. |

Supplied us with clothing which subsequently failed tests commissioned by British Fencing and was disallowed at their competitions. Proprietor declined to refund or replace, so we are in the process of small claims court with him. Cheap is only good if it is safe and useable! |

The above mentioned body wires are not that great actually: mine doesn't fit into the soccet of the epee! Luckily didn't spend too much on it... |

Ordered a full kit from them.
Quality of the goods was fair, except for the jacket and other items which came stained.
Returned the jacket, got a new one after two weeks having sent several emails.
I asked for a refund of postage and packing (since it was the merchant's fault) but my 2 or 3 emails were deliberately ignored, which is a shame (I posted a sales enquiry under a different name and got an immediate answer...).
It is a shame the business is being let down by poor customer service since they sell rather good stuff as reasonable prices. However do not order if
- you want good customer service and a hassle-free order
- you do not like to have most items branded "Swordpricefighters". This does not always appear in the photos on their website but yes, your socks will read "swordpricefighters.com" in big letter.
In summary, Swordpricefighters is a hit or miss...

I've recently bought an epee from this shop which broke within the first 10 min of use. Maybe I hit in a wrong way but still... I'll be buying the replacement blade somewhere else. |

Finally got a response to my issue, delay due to internet probs at their end.
Issue with breeches caused by overstitching, sent pictures of damage and refund given - no quibbles. Got there in the end :-)
Thank you Terence |

I ordered socks, jacket, breeches, lame, foil and body wires. They arrived promptly however one pair of socks were missed off the order, and very quickly after contacting them via email I got the missing pair sent over. Full marks for that.
Then after using the breeches only one time they developed a problem. I emailed them twice and haven't heard since. I would have expected at least an acknowledgement and it's been weeks.
In the end ended up buying new breeches from Leon Paul. |

I was a bit cautious about ordering equipment from Swordpricefighters.com as I had read a couple of scathing reviews, but I have been really happy with them, so far I have bought:
1. Electric epee - at 25 pounds this weapon is a good (and reliable) club weapon, the blade does have a tendency to stay bent after a hard hit, however I have used it for 5 months and a couple of competitions and it has proven as reliable as 'cheap' weapons from other suppliers, and at half the cost.
2. Epee mask - this item is great, solid and comfortable, fits me perfectly.
3. Epee body wire - again very solid and well built and very cheap.
Orders have all arrived next day. |

I have bought from Swordpricefighters over a number of years. Lets face it I've been fencing for 50 years so have been through a fair bit of kit. I no longer compete so the last word in quality or innovation is not something I lose much sleep over. That's not to say I'm not fussy about the balance of my weapons. I am. Most particular about the weight and feel.
Purchases from this Company have been mainly blades and weapon parts. The service I have had has always been excellent. Ordered a foil blade last week, came next day, and I can't fault the quality. I believe Terence Kingston does a good job. Unlike some I have had no problems with replies to queries. |

Bought most of my starter kit (jacket, plastron, lame, body wire, glove, bag) from Swordpricefighters and found that it all came very quickly and for a fraction of the price it could have been. Everything was of good quality and had the correct features.
The lame was initially too small as I ordered the same size as my chest and did not account for the jacket and plastron (need to add a few inches). I got this replaced and the service by phone was excellent (though the replacement did take a little longer to come due to them being very busy).
I would not hesitate to order from them again. |
