Membership

Once you have completed your initial beginners course (or if you are already an accomplished fencer) you will be invited to become a member of the club. We currently have around 300 members including both social and competitive fencers. We pay particular attention to members who only recently started to fence and make it possible through on-going group training sessions to ensure you learn and progress to the advanced stages of the sport. We are the only club in London to offer group lessons to advanced beginners and intermediate fencers. All sessions are structured and include warm up, footwork, bladework or tactical lesson and free fencing.

To become a member of the club you need to pay a one off joining free followed by monthly subscriptions.

Joining fee

The one off joining fee of £110 (£88 concessions) includes
  • Individual lesson with a fencing master to assess your future training programme
  • That extra time our coaches will spend with you helping to catch up and blend in with the rest of the class
You can pay your joining fee here.

Monthly Subscription

The monthly subscription varies between £35 and £55 depending how many sessions per week you attend (see below). It is paid by standing order (download form) and entitles you to:
  • Attend chosen weekly group training/free fencing sessions (details below)
  • Obtain free expert advice and feedback from coaches
  • Discounted rates for one-to-one lessons
  • Free use of non-electric fencing kit (i.e. masks, jackets, etc*)
  • Free use of electric piste sets (scoring apparatus and spools)
  • Go on our fencing holidays abroad and attend various socials
  • Compete for the club (yes, you can do it!)

Group Training Sessions

The basic £35 pm membership entitles you to attend one chosen weekday class, e.g. Tuesdays foil class. If you wish to attend more than one session a week, please add extra £10 per month per each weekly session. For example if you sign up to attend epee classes on Mondays and Thursdays and the free play sessions on Saturdays, the monthly fee will be £35 + £10 + £10 = £55. We do recommend to recent beginners to fence at least twice a week! Here is the list of times and venues for the group sessions and the availability of places: fencing
