The Club

The Club was established in May 2003 as the answer to the growing popularity of recreational fencing in London. Most of our Members fence because they enjoy the mental as well as physical challenge which the sport offers and they also see it as an out of the ordinary part of their fitness programme.

Fencing tuition is offered in all weapons. We fence foil on Mondays and Tuesdays, sabre on Wednesdays and Thursdays and epee on Thursdays - 2.5 hours starting either 6 pm or 7 pm (depending on the venue). There are also free fencing sessions on Saturday afternoons between 2 pm and 5 pm for all weapons.

If you've never (or little) fenced before you might consider taking one of our dedicated beginners courses which will allow you to get the feel of the sport or come back to something you liked many years ago. And you could stay with us afterwards! We are probably the only club in London offering group lessons for advanced beginner/intermediate level of fencing. This means that upon complition of the beginners course you'll be able continue learning during the on going classes with our fencing masters. Most sessions are for adults but there are also separate children's classes that take place between 4.15 and 5.30 pm.

Advanced beginners/Intermediates classes include warm up/footwork, bladework or tactical lesson and free fencing. Private lessons are available from 7 pm onwards. The club has 7 coaches, all top experts in their weapons. We also organize training holidays abroad, fencing weekends away and various socials.

The club membership costs between £ 35 and £ 50 per month depending on the number of days you choose to attend. There are consession rates for full time artists, actors and students.

Six weeks courses for beginners and intermediates cost £ 90, this includes the membership and a stock of equipment you can borrow. You can also take intensive workshops which run on Saturdays between 11 am and 2 pm.

The club is conveniently located within walking distance from the City of London.
