Swordpricefighters.com

Somewhere in Surrey...
http://www.swordpricefighters.com

This is a super secret shop which sells Chinese kit but does not admit to it. They do not disclose their location or reply to emails. Recently however the name and the phone number of the proprietor became available to the public (see the 5 star self-review below). On the positive side: the Price Fighters do dispatch the orders promptly. And with the prices which are a fraction of what you'd expect from Leon Paul or Allstar - maybe that's all what matters?

Good for: £5 epee bodywires.

It's a shame that: there is no one to ask a question if you've got one.

Hi there,
www.swordpricefighters.com was not meant to be super secret or we would never sell anything.
We were just trying to establish an internet only service which saves money all round.
We import from several Chinese sources (some Wuxi products failed our quality tests), and will be importing from Southern Asia and Russia soon.
One thing we are trying to do is prevent disappointment by only having items we have in stock listed on our site. We know we will loose sales by doing this, but this way customers don't have to wait ages for their stuff. However, this is not foolproof because its done manually and if we don't take stuff off the site immediately when we run out then we will tell you, you will have to wait.
My books and posters will also be available soon on site.
Happy shopping,
Terence Kingston

I wanted to order an epee, the price looked good but I did not know whether it was the correct one. There was no phone number to phone, so I decided not to buy at the end from them, bought from Duellist....

Bought most of my starter kit (jacket, plastron, lame, body wire, glove, bag) from Swordpricefighters and found that it all came very quickly and for a fraction of the price it could have been. Everything was of good quality and had the correct features.
The lame was initially too small as I ordered the same size as my chest and did not account for the jacket and plastron (need to add a few inches). I got this replaced and the service by phone was excellent (though the replacement did take a little longer to come due to them being very busy).

I would not hesitate to order from them again.

I used to get my stuff from the excellent gofence.com but as they are now defunct, alas, I decided to purchase a needed non-electric sabre from swordpricefighters.com. The weapon came very promptly, was excellently wrapped and all paperwork was included. This very reasonably priced sabre is an excellent, solid, standard weapon that takes a good bashing very well and is perfectly weighted for my preference. This company is a great find. I would recommend them to anyone and would not hesitate to go there again.

I have bought from Swordpricefighters over a number of years. Lets face it I've been fencing for 50 years so have been through a fair bit of kit. I no longer compete so the last word in quality or innovation is not something I lose much sleep over. That's not to say I'm not fussy about the balance of my weapons. I am. Most particular about the weight and feel.
Purchases from this Company have been mainly blades and weapon parts. The service I have had has always been excellent. Ordered a foil blade last week, came next day, and I can't fault the quality. I believe Terence Kingston does a good job. Unlike some I have had no problems with replies to queries.

I was a bit cautious about ordering equipment from Swordpricefighters.com as I had read a couple of scathing reviews, but I have been really happy with them, so far I have bought:
1. Electric epee - at 25 pounds this weapon is a good (and reliable) club weapon, the blade does have a tendency to stay bent after a hard hit, however I have used it for 5 months and a couple of competitions and it has proven as reliable as 'cheap' weapons from other suppliers, and at half the cost.
2. Epee mask - this item is great, solid and comfortable, fits me perfectly.
3. Epee body wire - again very solid and well built and very cheap.

Orders have all arrived next day.

I ordered socks, jacket, breeches, lame, foil and body wires. They arrived promptly however one pair of socks were missed off the order, and very quickly after contacting them via email I got the missing pair sent over. Full marks for that.

Then after using the breeches only one time they developed a problem. I emailed them twice and haven't heard since. I would have expected at least an acknowledgement and it's been weeks.

In the end ended up buying new breeches from Leon Paul.

Finally got a response to my issue, delay due to internet probs at their end.

Issue with breeches caused by overstitching, sent pictures of damage and refund given - no quibbles. Got there in the end :-)

Thank you Terence

Ordered a full kit from them.
Quality of the goods was fair, except for the jacket and other items which came stained.
Returned the jacket, got a new one after two weeks having sent several emails.
I asked for a refund of postage and packing (since it was the merchant's fault) but my 2 or 3 emails were deliberately ignored, which is a shame (I posted a sales enquiry under a different name and got an immediate answer...).

It is a shame the business is being let down by poor customer service since they sell rather good stuff as reasonable prices. However do not order if
- you want good customer service and a hassle-free order
- you do not like to have most items branded "Swordpricefighters". This does not always appear in the photos on their website but yes, your socks will read "swordpricefighters.com" in big letter.

In summary, Swordpricefighters is a hit or miss...

I've recently bought an epee from this shop which broke within the first 10 min of use. Maybe I hit in a wrong way but still... I'll be buying the replacement blade somewhere else.
